Muhledy is a collective, original jazz quartet based out of three North American cities. The group features Toronto saxophonist Chris Gale (Colin James, Richard Undherhill, Shuffle Demons, Brandi Disterheft), Chicago pianist Jordan Baskin, and the dynamic Vancouver rhythm team of Sean Cronin (bass) and Morgan Childs (drums). Formed in 2003 for a one-off weekend performance, Muhledy has now completed five different tours of BC, Alberta, and Ontario, as well as a full length album of original material for the Vancouver based Cellar Live record label. The music performed by Muhledy covers a wide variety of jazz styles, influenced by everything from Duke Ellington and Monk to Wayne Shorter, Ornette Coleman and Keith Jarrett. Their high energy live performances have generated accolades from fellow musicians and jazz lovers alike. For their 2008 Kaslo Jazz Etc. Festival performance, the band will debut brand new compositions from every member of the group, as well as performing selections from their Cellar Live album “Active Sleep”.
