Kristin Sevaldsen is a veteran musician composer and music producer from Lillehammer, Norway has been playing the soprano, alto, tenor and baritone sax for the past 20 years. Fluent in styles ranging from classical to modern funk and groove, as well as the entire range of rhythmic cross-over music Kristin and her band are breaking into the International Jazz scene starting with the Kaslo Jazz Etc Festival.
“In pursuit of the groove, that’s me!” says Kristin. Her attitude is that music spans and communicates across cultures, conflicts and attitudes and it is just that attitude that has taken her around the world from the Sami Karasjok to Zimbabwe, from Honolulu to Tel Aviv.
After years of working with other bands Kristin finally released her first solo album Impressions in January 2007. The album received excellent reviews and Kristin has been busy playing concerts throughout 2007. During all the promotion of her new album Kristin was invited to perform on the “Good Morning Norway” on TV2 the largest morning TV program in Norway.
After her debut in Canada at the Kaslo Jazz Etc Festival, Kristin will return home to produce her second album which is planned to be released at the end of 2008.
