Eh Trane

Eh Trane

Gary Edighoffer and Eh Trane

Gary Edighoffer has been involved in the Kaslo Jazz, etc. Festival since it’s inception in 1992. His interests in traditional, Latin, and contemporary jazz have found him organizing and leading several successful jazz groups, most of which have played in Kaslo: Eh Trane, Watersign, Cosmic Dust, Desafinado – a nine-piece Brazilian group, Jazzmania, and the Continentals. Gary helped organize the original Kaslo Jazz, etc. Festival, and with Eh Trane, has led the after-festival jam sessions every year of the Festival.Ā  They play music in a variety of styles from Latin, blues and funk to straightahead contemporary jazz. In addition to their festival performance this year, they will be playing and hosting the jam sessions at the Kaslo Hotel on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Born in Vancouver, Edighoffer now resides in Spokane, where he has backed artists such as Natalie Cole, Joe Williams, Diana Krall, Ernie Watts, the Temptations, Mel Torme, and Clark Terry, as well as several traveling Big Bands including Jimmy Dorsey, Cab Calloway, and Gene Krupa.  Gary also performs with the Bob Curnow Big Band, Spokane Jazz Orchestra, Soul Proprietor, the Night Bloomin’ JazzMen, Spokane Symphony Pops and for touring Broadway shows. In addition to his many performing outlets, Gary was Musical Director of the legendary Hobart’s Jazz Lounge in Spokane and producer of the SFCC Jazz Festival, presenting world-class artists for over 28 years.

Returning to Kaslo and appearing with Eh Trane will be outstanding Spokane pianist Mark Norton, multi-talented bassist Eugene Jablonsky and the fabulous drummer Michael Waldrop. They will be joined by local great Paul Landsberg on guitar, also a member of Desafinado and a regular musical guest with Eh Trane. Be sure to catch the group with many other festival star players at the after-festival jam sessions at the Kaslo Hotel.
