Zero Waste Program
Our goal is to eliminate garbage going into landfills! We need your help!
- Reduce use of disposables wherever possible.
- Avoid single serving items: instead use large dispensers for items like sugar, cream, sauce, salad dressing, mustard, relish, etc.
- Use wooden stir sticks.
- Bring items to the festival in cardboard or other reusable boxes/packaging rather than polystyrene or waxed cardboard.
- Eliminate unnecessary waste items such as:
- Polystyrene cups
- Plastic film wrap — use cellophane wrap or paper
- Plastic cutlery
- Products that are over-packaged
- Pre-wrapped straws
- Pre-packaged sugar, cream, sauce, ketchup, etc.
- Plastic bags
- You can help to promote the recycling/composting system at the festival by telling your customers how to use the recycling/composting stations correctly. We will supply an explanation sheet for your booth.
- Our recycling/composting stations will provide for disposal of refundable aluminum/plastic containers, compostable food waste, and compostable serving utensils, such as plates, bowls, and cutlery. The recycling/composting stations will make correct disposal easy.
