BLACKIE & THE RODEO KINGS, Canada

What do you get when you put together a blues traditionalist, a folk guitarist and a husky baritone who used to be the front man rocker from “Junkhouse”? You get Juno award winning Blackie & the Rodeo Kings. What started out as a tribute project to the late Willie P. Bennett has evolved into one of the most entertaining Canadian roots super groups of all time, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings.

Stephen Fearing, Colin Linden and Tom Wilson come together to combine their talents for an evening concert that will be filled with Tom’s larger than life charisma and wise-cracks, Colin’s fluent yet fiery guitar work, Stephen’s spot-on vocal and guitar stylings, and the vibrantly-hued stage costumes, to make a combination built to thrill.

and
RIDLEY BENT, Canada

Opening the show is Ridley Bent, a Canadian indie singer-songwriter who is quickly making a name for himself. His style incorporates country, rock and hip hop influences, in a manner similar to Buck 65. Bent describes his own style as “hick hop”.With recent successes as the winner of the Country - Song category for the release “Nine Inch Nails” in the 8th Annual Independent Music Awards and recent nomination for a Canadian Radio Music Award in the Country music category, for “Heartland Heartbreak” this kid’s going places and you can say you saw him in Kaslo first!
